The Morinville Kings took to the ice against the Okotoks Drillers Friday night in game one of a weekend-long Senior AA/A Provincials series, emerging with a 9-4 loss.
The Kings trailed the Drillers 2-1 at the end of the first and though the margin widened to 5-3 by the end of the middle frame, the kings came within one of a tie early in the period. That situation quickly fell away as the Drillers added steadily to their number throughout the remaining 17 minutes of the final period to end the contest 9-4.
The Kings will take to the ice Saturday afternoon against the Two Hills Longhorns. Game time is 5 p.m. at the Ray McDonald
Sports Centre.
