Nash speaks
Grade 8 Georges H. Primeau students, Grade 9 Legal and MCHS students gathered in the MCHS gymnasium Tuesday afternoon to hear Robb Nash, a motivational speaker and singer who provided words of encouragement through music and stories. Nash spoke of his life-threatening accident when he was a teenager and the choices people can make in life. “Bad days are just going to happen and things happen with potential, you have the potential to be angry rest of your life or potential to turn it around and help others,” Nash told students.
MCHS student Angeline Charrois had an opportunity to go on stage and sing a song with Robb Nash, accompanied by Jonny Holliday on drums. The concert was a partnership between Nash’s organization and MCHS and was funded by Family and community Support Services. – Lucie Roy Photo
Gold-medal band
Tuesday morning G.H. Primeau Band members performed Three Faces of Kilimanjaro and Olympia under the direction of conductor Nicole Baker at the Arden Theatre. The performance won them a Gold in the 37th Annual St Albert Music Festival, sponsored by the rotary Club for the past 20 years. Primeau, Notre Dame and MCHS are participating in the 10-day music festival which runs April 7 to 17. More than 2,000 performing artists will take part in more than 900 performances at seven venues in St. Albert. – Lucie Roy Photo

Joe Jam
Rednex Bar and Grill held the first weekly Joe Jam, named after the Morinville News’ own Joe Morinville. Hosted by Christan Maslyk, this weeks jam included musicians Angela Proulx and Al Pangburn. The event takes place Tuesday nights at 9 p.m.
