la folia
Baroque concert
La Folia, a baroque string ensemble, with artistic director Josephine Van Lier performed a Concerto Grosso with music selections from Handel, Locatelli, Corelli and Bach in the foyer of the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Saturday night. The 11 members played the violin, viola, cello, baroque cello, and harpsichord. After the performance, audience members had an opportunity to speak with performers and ask questions about the various instruments. The harpsichord (a keyboard instrument similar to a piano with strings that are plucked) received most of the attention. About a dozen attended the event.
