Concession Kings in place
Morinville Kings President Wayne Gatza poses in front of some new gear at the Ray McDonald concession stand. The North Central Hockey League Senior AA Kings will be running the snack shack this season to help fund the successful team.
Gatza said they have purchased a popcorn machine for the concession so as to be able to offer traditional popcorn instead of microwaved. In addition to burgers, fries, nachos, poutine and other traditional offerings, the Kings will be offering a number of healthier choices for game goers, including salads and veggies and dips.

Making the team
With the ice back in the rink, local hockey players are getting ready for the 2014-2015 season. Sturgeon Hockey Club Atom tryouts were held at the Ray McDonald Sports Center Sept. 2. More than 40 players showed up for the first skate and evaluation.
