Here is information on upcoming Public Hearings, employment opportunities and events happening in Morinville, taken from this weeks Town of Morinville ads and other information gathered in the community.
Take the Healthy Eating Challenge
The Town of Morinville and Sobey’s 21 Days Healthy Eating Challenge takes place from October 6 to 26, 2014 for the purpose of encouraging families to eat at least one healthy, home-cooked meal together each day for 21 days. With the idea it takes 21 days to form a habit, this challenge focuses on bringing families together and encouraging them to eat healthier meals whenever they can, wherever they can.
Families can register at http://arpaonline.ca/program/choosewell/events/ to win great prizes at the completion of the program. It is important to register to have the complete numbers of families counted from our area.
Calendars and dry-erase pens are available at the Community Services Office located within the Community Cultural Centre at 9502-100 Ave. or at the Morinville Sobeys.
They are hoping people find the 21 Days to Healthy Eating Challenge to be a simple and effective way of promoting healthy eating in your family.
Anyone with questions regarding the program contact Melonie Dziwenka at 780-939-7833.

Reuse It or “Loose” It
Residents are invited to set “loose” items no longer wanted or needed (but still useable) by bringing them to a central location for others to browse through and take home FREE OF CHARGE on a first come first served basis. This event lessens our environmental impact by sending less to the landfill, while at the same time giving local families access to items they might otherwise not be able to afford.
Additionally, the event clears space in our garages and keeps our community cleaner. The Town provides a removal service for residents with disabilities or mobility issues. For additional information call Public Works 780-939-2590.
