Singer / songwriter Ian Tyson dresses as the hero he hopes each student will become. The motivational speaker presented to Primeau students Thursday afternoon on a number of topics, including motivation and set goals. An author, comic, master storyteller and entertainer, his Hero Inside and Hooray for Everything shows create positive change for people and makes them look at the world around them differently.

Andrew from Los Angeles performed the NED Show at Notre Dame School Thursday morning. The 45-minute assembly included a story about a lovable cartoon character named NED, told by Andrew with the use of a yo-yo. The aim is to teach three critical skills children need to become champions at school and in life. NED’s name serves as an acronym that makes the message easy to remember, Never Give Up, Encourage Others and Do Your Best.

Ross Hodgins of RV City and Frontier Honda and Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools Superintendent David Keohane do a ceremonial ribbon cutting to officially open the new MCHS gymnasium. Hodgins family donated $42,500 for new bleachers.The bleachers carry the orange and blue school colours and spell out MCHS.
