Judith Clarke has been busy working and collecting all year to put smiles on seniors’ faces this Christmas season.
Her Christmas village display, set up at Aspen House Friday morning, took several hours to create.

Judith Clarke has been busy working and collecting all year to put smiles on seniors’ faces this Christmas season.
The labour of love started with the Christmas decorations she received when she was 12 years old. Since then she acquired quite a few more festive decorative houses. This year she put the word out for Christmas decorations and the donations poured in.
Clarke spent all summer at the lake refurbishing, fixing, painting, and plastering hundreds of items to make them like new again.
She donated six boxes to Heritage Place Lodge so the residents and staff could enjoy the beauty of a miniature village.
On Friday morning Clarke worked for hours to create the perfect Christmas village scene at Aspen House. What was not donated to create the display, she purchased out of pocket. Clarke said she is doing it all because she wants to cheer up seniors.
The display at Aspen House is the length of two six-foot tables. Many of the decorations will become the property of Aspen so they may be enjoyed from year to year. What began as a Christmas ornamental house set when she was 12 and a donation of Christmas decorations when a friend moved away some years ago has grown to become a mission for smiles for seniors.
