Morinville RCMP, the Morinville Fire Department and EMTs were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at noon on Saturday.

The collision occured north of Township Road 564 on Highway 44 and involved a 5-ton grain truck and a pick-up truck.
Police say the driver of the southbound grain truck attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so.

The driver of the northbound pick-up truck suffered serious life threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to hospital by ground ambulance.

Morinville RCMP continue to investigate the collision, but they have said alcohol, weather and road conditions do not appear to be factors in Saturday’s collision.
