Great food, great music and martinis were the recipes being cooked up by local chef Doug Adsit and musician Paul Smith. The first of a proposed series of regional cuisine and entertainment nights, Martinis and Blues took place at Smith Music Saturday night. Participants got an opportunity to enjoy an authentic Louisiana buffet, traditional blues music and martinis.
Green Bean Coffee House and Bistro owner Doug Adsit said the idea came about when he and Smith were having some bourbon one night and started talking about mixing their talents for an event.
But a great delta buffet was not the only thing on the menu. Smith was joined by Ed Bulger, David LeBel and Allen Pangborn in getting back to the roots of music for the event.
Above is a video of the band playing Blind Lemon Jefferson’s Black Snake Moan and some highlights of the buffet and entertainment evening.
