They are the champions

We would like to acknowledge the coaches and players of the CR Knights Midget 1 team for wrapping up their season with a Midget League Championship, for a second year in a row.
This is a team, although small in numbers (12 skaters and 2 goalies), had a dedicated group of coaches and players who were relentless in their quest for a championship.
The CR Knights is the amalgamation of the Calahoo and Riviere Qui Barre Minor Hockey Associations.
We finished our regular season in 1st place (18-4-2) and then played the 2nd place team (CNN) for a bye to the final playoff round. We won the remaining playoff rounds to play CNN again in final round for league championship.

Heavenly Rollers to roll at Servus Place

The St. Albert Heavenly Rollers (STAHR) have been working hard for the past 5 years to make a name for themselves, not only in their home town of St. Albert but even internationally.

Thanks to hard work and dedication in the 2014 season, STAHR graduated the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association apprenticeship program and this past December joined over 300 other leagues from around the world in achieving full membership status. With this achievement, St. Albert’s only Roller Derby league will now be able to compete internationally in games and tournaments with teams across the globe.

“It has been a long journey, with some of the most amazing athletes. It is nice to see the fruits of our labor finally and there is lots of growth visible in the future”, said Danielle Joevenazzo, Promotions Director.
You can be a part of the action on Apr. 11, 2015 at Servus Place, where STAHR will be hitting the track for their Home Opener. STAHR will be facing off against the East Side Wheelers from Indus, Alberta. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the first whistle blows at 7 p.m.
