Trail day this Saturday

The Morinville Fish and Game Club (107 St. & 107 Ave.) trail will play host to four hours of trail activity Saturday. The Trail Day event takes place from noon until 4 p.m. June 6, and the Town is inviting families out to the free event that includes hot dogs, bike decorating, a trailblazer obstacle course, and the opportunity to create some trail mix at the trail bar.

“It’s to get kids outside and being physically active,” said organizer Lauren Henderson. “Kids will be able to decorate their bikes and bike around the trails with their families.”

But Henderson points out people are welcome to attend on a skateboard, rollerskates or by foot. The idea is to get people out and aware of the community’s trail system.

“Having a trail system is awesome because it gives you something you can do and its an excursion for families to go out and have fun,” Henderson said.

The Town is hoping people will also come out to enjoy the natural surroundings offered by the Fish and Game Association pond area.
