At approximately noon Aug. 2, Morinville RCMP and emergency services responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 28 near Carbondale Road in Sturgeon County.
A southbound Chevrolet Malibu crossed the centreline and struck a northbound Dodge pick up truck.
Police say the driver of the northbound Dodge pick up tried to avoid the collision.
The driver of the northbound Dodge pickup was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the southbound passenger car was assessed by paramedics on scene and released.
Alcohol, road and weather conditions do not appear to be factors in the collision.
The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.
Morinville RCMP along with a RCMP Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
