Politicians gather

The Morinville and District Chamber of Commerce held their first monthly meeting after the summer break Sept. 2 with more than 65 registered guests in attendance. The first guest for the new Chamber year was the Honourable Rona Ambrose who spoke on the economy. Ambrose is the Conservative Party candidate for the new riding of Sturgeon River-Parkland. Mayor Lisa Holmes provided la brief update on the Arena/ Multi Use facility.

Celtic rocks
Derina Harvey performs some celtic tunes at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Thursday night during the Active Living Fair. Harvey and her band ­— The Derina Harvey Band — will perform a full show Jan. 16, sponsored by Andrew Webb Carpentry.
