Alberta Culture days kicked off at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Friday night with the Sixth Annual Paint the Town Red Gala.

More than 40 artists participated this year, displaying their work and providing an opportunity for attendees to purchase original art and vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Event Chair Dolly Bolen provided opening remarks, and 3rd Canadian Division Commander Brigadier-General Wayne Eyre brought greetings. Events included a silent auction, door prizes, champagne reception and Hors d’oeuvres.

Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser evening will be used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for the Sturgeon Community Hospital.

Approximately 100 people were in attendance at event. Amounts raised were not available by our press deadline.
