Morinville Chamber announces Integrity Award nominees

The Morinville and District Chamber of Commerce have announced the nominees for the Chamber Integrity Award, a special category of the upcoming awards night presentations nominated and chosen by the board.

This year’s nominees are J Turner Goldsmith, Morinville Bottle Depot, Morinville News, Morinville Shell, Pleasant Homes, Putnam & Lawson, and Smith Music.

Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce Manager Diane Mineault said the award is exclusive to Chamber members and to qualify a business must meet several criteria.

They must be an entrepreneur who has made their business or the business of their employ a success. They must actively contribute to the clubs/organizations through the donation of time or financial assistance as well as demonstrates a high level of integrity within the business community.

“Each year a business is selected by the Chamber of Commerce. It is very hard to choose a winner for this award as every one of the nominees has participated within the Town of Morinville and other areas both through great business ethics and through volunteering in a number of organizations,” Mineault said. “This District is very lucky to have such a strong group of volunteers who truly care about their community, family and other organizations. I am proud to be a part of this area where the spirit of getting involved is so high.”

The Integrity Award joins nine other Business of the Year Awards being presented at the Chamber’s Annual Gala Oct. 29.

Mineault said Chamber President Simon Boersma will also present long-term Chamber members a plaque to commemorate their years of service. Long-service awards range from five to 35 years of membership in the business advocacy organization.

The Chamber is promising their biggest event yet. This year’s gala will carry a Chinese theme in recognition of the Chamber’s recent business trip to that country.

Tickets are $50 per person or $350 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at the Chamber Office.
