Hailed as one of the most talented Elvis Tribute Artists (ETA) in the world, Cody Ray Slaughter has performed across the United States and on Late Night with David Letterman. The ETA will be making a stop in Morinville Nov. 17 as part of his Canadian tour Nov. 14 to 25.
The performer looks, sounds and acts like a young Elvis won the People’s Choice Award during Elvis Week 2008, the New Horizon Award for best new Elvis Tribute Artist in 2011, and was named Ultimate Elvis in the same year by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Terri Futreal, Producer of Elvis ‘56, said the upcoming Morinville stop is a show people simply do not want to miss both regarding the artist and the show he’s bringing to town.
“He’s extremely talented,” Futreal said. “His talent is natural. It’s not rehearsed. He’s charismatic. He has a great voice. It’s just a natural talent. What you see is Cody.”
Futreal said not only will the audience get the look charisma and sound of Elvis, but they also gt the look and mannerisms as well.
“Back in 1956, Elvis was very young and shy. He was just a country boy, and Cody has the same demeanour,” Futreal said. “He’s a very shy young man. Elvis was extremely handsome. Cody is extremely handsome. He has a lot of the same mannerisms that Elvis did in the ‘50s. He fidgets. You see a lot of the similarities.”
Futreal said when the audience sees him and sees him smile; he’ll win the hearts of all ages.
The upcoming show is one-hour-and 45-minutes long with a 15-minute intermission. The producers are giving their audience their money’s worth with the upcoming evening of entertainment.
Elvis ‘56 will have Slaughter taking Elvis fans through an entire era of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, not only singing the songs that launched a career, but telling the story of the rise of Elvis Presley.
“The music covers his top 100 hits. He was on television 11 times. He stays in the era with all of the songs,” Futreal explained. “It’s an amazing story full of emotion and passion for Elvis’ life. Cody does an excellent job telling the story. The female artist Stephi – she’s very talented and portrays a lot of the music of the female artists. The production is simply awesome.”
