Four points over the weekend for the Jets

Six was the magic number for the Jets over two games Friday and Sunday. The Jets pulled off a 6-1 win on the road Friday night against the Spruce Grove Regals and capped it with a 6-3 win over th visiting Strathcona Bruins Sunday night. The back-to-back wins broke a four-game losing streak for the Jets and elevate their record to 6-7-0 this season.

Friday night saw the Jets and Regals tied at one apiece at the end of the first period, and the Jets doubling heir tally to a 2-1 lead by the end of the second. The final frame saw the Jets pocketing another four at even strength.

Sunday night’s home-ice affair was one where the Jets built from a solid 3-1 lead at th nd of the first to a 4-2 lead by the end of the second. Another pair of goals in the final period, including a power play goal gave them a healthy 6-3 finish.

The Jets play twice this week. Wednesday they take to the road to face the North Edmonton Red Wings and return to Morinville for a 6:45 p.m. game Sunday night against the Stony Plain Flyers.
