Morinville RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a lone male that robbed the Guardian Drug Store located in Gibbons Saturday afternoon.
Police say a 911 call was received at 2:25 p.m. Nov. 14 with a report of a male entering Guardian Drugs in Gibbons. The suspect walked to the pharmacy area where he produced a note [details not provided by police] and requested the pharmacist to hand over all prescription drugs.
RCMP report the pharmacist allowed the suspect to go behind the counter and take the narcotics he desired before he departed the business. Quantity and types of narcotics stolen are unknown at this time.
Witnesses say the suspect fled in a white Chevrolet Silverado crew cab with an Alberta licence plate ending in 8164.
Additional witness information indicate the truck bed was full of boxes. The suspect vehicle was last seen heading southbound behind Gibbons Town Hall.
The suspect is described as being medium build, approximately 6’1″ to 6′ 4″ with brown hair and blue eyes.
Wearing dark pants, possibly track, black hoodie with a blue vest, sunglasses, red gloves light grey sneakers. It is believed the suspect may also have been wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. He was carrying a black and grey bag
No arrest has been made and this investigation is continuing. Police have not released an update on the attempted robbery of the Morinville Guardian Drugs a week earlier or indicated if they believe the two incidents are connected.
