Police Briefs: Morinville convenience store robbed

Morinville RCMP are investigating a robbery at the Mac’s convenience store on 100 Street that occurred at approximately 4 a.m. Jan. 22.

Police say the lone male suspect, who had a black ski mask covering his face, entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded cash from an employee. The employee was cooperative and unharmed.

The suspect then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as wearing a dark coloured jacket or sweater, dark coloured pants, dark coloured gloves.

Police continue in their investigation of this incident and ask anyone who has information about this robbery to contact the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4520 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

  1. This employee needs to know his or her rights to counsel as a WCB case hope the employee files for it the employer may not do so.

  2. Someone needed beer money….the register doesn’t hold large amounts of cash….
    At least he didn’t get killed for petty cash…

Unfortunately our laws prohibit anyone from physically engaging such a person, the ol bat behind the counter, you could be sued, and police are spread too thin to be effective in stopping such acts. Seems people are starting to figure out they won’t be caught. The description is completely useless.
