Police Briefs: Two charged in armed robbery at gas station

Morinville RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the gas station in Sandy Beach at approximately 6 p.m. Jan. 21.

Police say two male suspects, who covered their faces with bandanas, entered the store and brandished a machete. The suspects then stole six bottles of liquor and fled on foot. The employee was in the back area and was unharmed.

The suspects were described as thin, wearing hoodie style sweaters, and had bandanas over their faces.

Shortly after the complaint was received, police followed up with tips from the public and located the two suspects at a residence on the Alexander First Nation. Both were arrested and taken into custody.

The investigation continues.

  1. Good to see the suspects behind bars but the problem is deeper, what happened to thees man to be so desperate? Same with the latest case in Morinville. there are always 2 sides to the story…. still good job RCMP
