The Morinville Jets followed their OT loss with the Fort Saskatchewan Hawks Wednesday night with a 5-4 victory over the Sherwood Park Knights on the road Friday. The Jets came from behind a 2-1 first-period deficit to lead the game 3-2 heading into the final frame. The Knights bounced back by the mid-point of that period to lead the contest 4-3, but the Jets evened the score with 5:20 left in the game. Though it looked as though the Jets were headed for their second OT shift in as many games, Jorden Rooke capitalized on a powerplay opportunity off an assist from Scott Woloshyn ad Michael McLaughlin with 29 seconds left in the game. The Jets (14-17-3) play the Flyers at home Sunday night at 6:45 p.m. The club’s next two games after Sunday will be on the road, and then they return home Feb. 7 to face the Chiefs in the final game of the regular season. The Primeau Coyotes basketball teams are in Devon this weekend. The Girls lost Friday night 52-12 to Lakeland Ridge. They played at 8 a.m. Saturday morning and lost 47-27 to Mill Woods. The Coyote Girls move on to the Consolation Round at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
