Flyers shoot down Jets at home

The Morinville Jets ended a three-point week with a 4-2 loss to the Stony Plain Flyers Sunday night.

The game went back and forth between the two clubs for the first two periods with the periods ending 1-1 and 2-2. But he Flyers pulled ahead by one midway through the final frame. The Flyer’s fourth was sunk into an empty net with 37 seconds left on the clock.

Sunday night’s loss marks four straight losses to the Flyers. The club’s only point earned from the Flyers was Dec. 8’s 3-2 OT loss.

The Jets (14-18-3) have three games left. The next two will be out of town. The Jets play the Bruins on the road Sunday at 3:30, and the Warriors on the road Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. The final game of the season will be against the Chiefs Feb. 7 at 6:45 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Center.
