Jets win it in OT

The Morinville Jets took down the Strathcona Bruins on the road Sunday afternoon with a 4-3 OT win.

The Jets trailed the Bruins 1-0 after 20, and despite pocketing one mid-way through the second period, found themselves trailing 2-1 by the end of the frame.

The two clubs battled back and forth in the third period with alternating powerplay goals.

Scott Woloshyn picked up the first off assists from Lee Gadoury and Joshua Perrott to make it 2-2, but the club found themselves trailing 3-2 with 2:13 left in the game. Lee Gadoury, assisted by Mitchell Perrott and Michael Wolosyhn drove the contest to overtime with 59 seconds left on the clock.

Michael Wolosyhn, assisted Gadoury got the one they needed on the powerplay with 3:19 left in overtime.

The Jets (15-18-3) have two games left this season. They play their next Wednesday night against the Beverly Warriors on the road, then face the Chiefs at home Sunday night at 6:45 p.m.

Depending outcomes of remaining games for the Merchants and Warriors, the Jets will play one of the two clubs in the first round of playoffs.
