by Morinville News Staff

The Morinville Jets fell 6-2 to the Beverly Warriors in the penultimate game of the Capital Junior Hockey League regular season.

The Jets (15-19-3) trailed the Warriors 2-1 after the first period, the club’s entry was a shorthanded goal from Lee Gadoury – assisted by Travis McLauchlin. The Jets were scoreless in the middle frame, ending it trailing Beverly 3-1. The final frame saw the Warriors pocket three to the Jets single entry from Scott Woloshyn, assisted by Tyler Proulx and Joshua Perrott.

Sunday marks the Jets’ final game of the regular season. The Jets take on the Beaumont Chiefs at home at 6:45 p.m.

The outcome of that game will have no bearing on who the Jets play in Round One of Playoffs as win or lose they will end the regular season in fifth place. Who they play will be determined by how the Merchants and Warriors do in their final two games this week. The two clubs are currently a point apart for third and fourth place in the West Division.
