The 3061 (1 Combat Engineer Regiment) Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps were presented with a $1000 cheque from Rotary Club of Morinville representative Monty Johnson Feb. 9.
Accepting on behalf of the Morinville Army Cadets was Captain Doug Marietta. Marietta said the funds are very welcome and will be placed in the general account for the time being. Marietta said the Rotary, Legion and Lions have been the main supporters of the Cadet Corps since it started and is grateful for their support.
The Cadet Corps is currently fundraising to send as many cadets as they can to Vimy in 2017.The presentation was made during their evening meeting with CWO Tyrell Brink inspecting the cadets.The corps currently has about twenty cadets that attend regularly. There were seventeen on parade Tuesday night.
