The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association is calling on other municipal associations across the province to join the AUMA in showing support for the Energy East Pipeline.
AUMA President Mayor Lisa Holmes will be speaking on the topic at the AUMA’s Annual Mayors’ Caucus Mar. 9 in Edmonton.
“We want to ensure that municipalities across Canada take the opportunity to understand and demonstrate their support for the pipeline to get product to market,” Holmes said in an AUMA release Tuesday. “We see the impact of our current economic situation on everyone in our communities—our friends, our neighbours, business owners. We need to be a voice for them.”
The two-day AUMA Mayor’s Caucus takes place Mar. 9 and 10 at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton.
