Open House

The Morinville Community High School Open House was held Thursday night with a passport full of activities to see, hear, do for parents and students.

The event included a career fair area, assembling universities and colleges, along with displays from the Morinville RCMP and Morinville Fire Department.

On the schedule were some interesting demonstrations, including furniture planning, science demonstrations, sports medicine, urban agriculture, cooking, sports, arts, and music.

A crafty pair

Margaret Joslin and Edith Kowalski were busy making flowers for the spring look at Aspen on Tuesday afternoon. The crafted flowers were made with coloured paper and a piece of cardboard cut in a circle pattern.

Science!

Georges H. Primeau Grade 7 and 8 Science Supernova was held Tuesday in the school cafeteria. Teacher Travis Hay said it was part of the Discovery Science class. Greater St. Albert Catholic School Morinville Ward Trustee Rene Tremblay was one of the judges for the event. Tremblay spoke with Jacob Matyjanka on his sugar crystals and salt needles experiment. Hay said judging was based on five categories, a fair test was conducted, reflection and interpretation, presentation skills, project display and originality.

Band concert
The Georges H. Primeau Grade 5 & 6 Term 2 Band Concert with teacher Nicole Baker was held Tuesday night before a packed audience in the Primeau gym.Baker said in Term 2 she had 32 Grade 5 students enrolled in music and 23 in Grade 6.

Beatles and Beef

The first Champion Regional Series will take place in Morinville Apr. 9 and features Alberta Beef, the music of The Beatles, and local beers. Tickets are available at the Green Bean in Morinville and are $50 per person.
