A Bike Rodeo took place at the Ray McDonald Sports Center parking lot May 12. The free event offered children aged 6 to 12 a 90-minute opportunity to get their spring and summer riding off on the right pedal.
The event was a partnership between the Town of Morinville, Community Peace Officers, RCMP and Alberta Health Services, and provided children with a variety of skills and the opportunity to put them into practice.
Community Peace Officer Sergeant William Norton has said the event not only increases rider skills and rule knowledge but is another way to promote cycling and activity in youth.
Approximately 40 children came out to participate in the event.
