Morinville sending seven to Summer Games

When the 2016 Alberta Summer Games begin July 14 in Leduc, seven Morinville residents will compete in a vaiety of sports.

The Games, running July 14 to 17 is open to athletes between the ages of 11 and 17.

The seven athletes competing from Morinville are Jules Froment in Basketball female, Liam Froment in basketball male, Borome Gagnon, Edmond Gagnon, Jacob Patrick, Noah Patrick and Jaeda Reaume all in the Canoe-Kayak event.

Three thousand athletes, coaches and officials from across Alberta, representing 14 sports, will be in Leduc for the 2016 Alberta Summer Games.

It is expected some 2,000 volunteers and 100 plus sponsors are participating.
