Though fall is still some time away, the Morinville Community Cultural Centre are getting ready to kick off the centre’s sixth LIVE at the Community Cultural Centre (CCC) series, a collection of performances the Town says brings world-class theatre and performances from acclaimed local, national, and international artists to Morinville.
Kicking off the 2016-2017 series is children’s performer Norman Foote on Oct. 20 and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award winner and Independent Female Artist of the Year, Lisa Brokop on Nov. 5.
“The best theatre inspires and excites, makes us laugh and cry, causes us to think and sparks our imagination,” said Community Services, Events and Culture Coordinator, Shaun Peters in a release July 19. “Our 2016-17 LIVE at the CCC season has been built on the foundation of successful seasons and standout performances from previous years. The upcoming season will be no exception. We have been hard at work building an exciting season debuting this fall.”
Juno award winner, Norman Foote will offer a Halloween theme performance Thursday, Oct. 20. Lisa Brokop kicks off the Mainstage Series Saturday, November 5 with Lisa Brokop: The Patsy Cline Project, a show the Town says will offer “an incredible musical journey featuring some of Patsy Cline’s most memorable songs.”
This season sees the return of cocktails and food at all the Mainstage shows.
“We are bringing back our popular cocktail and dinner hour as part of all of our Mainstage series performances,” said Chris Fish, Community Services Business, and Operations Manager, adding the offering provides a complete evening of entertainment and socializing for patrons. “Our goal with the LIVE at the CCC seasons is to present memorable performances and a consistent entertainment experience of the highest standard.”
The cultural centre will hold their season launch party, revealing the entire 2016-2017 lineup Sept. 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre (9502 – 100 Avenue).
Tickets for the series will also go on sale Sept. 8.
