Talk of the Town – midweek edition

On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Morinville Fish & Game Association member Brian Mullen posted a sign at the Morinville Fish & Game Pond for all anglers.

A fish possession limit regulatory change has been implemented in regard to the Morinville Fish and Game Pond located at 4-56-25-W4. The Trout limit is five in total, combined of Rainbow trout and Brown trout.

The Pike limit is five with no size limit.

The pond is located at 107 Avenue and 107 Street – near the Bob Foster Extreme Sports Skatepark and the Skyline Ball Diamonds.

On Tuesday, July 26 the Teen Centre located across from the arena at 99 Tache Ave and 104 Boisvert Street was demolished.

All items that could be recycled and salvaged were removed before it was bulldozed.
Teens have been meeting at the Community Cultural Centre for more than a year.

For August, teens will meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-5 at the Cultural Centre and the same timing on Thursdays at the Ray McDonald Sports Center.

County resident Jim Baker brought Summer Music in the Park back to the St. Jean Baptiste church grounds in Morinville July 19. The Aug. 2 performers were Dana Wylie and Jim and Penny Malmberg.

The final show at 7 p.m. on Aug. 16 sees local singer-songwriter Jan Baker and Bob Jahrig take to the stage below the clock tower. Admission is free, but donations for Sturgeon Victim Services are accepted.

    • about time they allow that. But I wouldn’t be eating the pike out of there. I’m sure it would ruin my first impression on a pike. I’d like to try it in a lake with rivers and the water is cold to try them.
