by Morinville News Staff

On Aug. 8, 2016, at approximately 4:05 a.m., Morinville RCMP responded to a call at the Morinville Mac’s convenience store where a lone male entered and attempted to rob the store at knife point.

Police say the lone male entered the Mac’s store brandishing a knife. The suspect was wearing a black sweater and had his face covered -except for his eyes – with a black balaclava.

The male entered through the front door and walked behind the till area with a knife in one hand and a bag in the other. There was nothing taken or said while the male was in the store.

The male left the store heading north into the town of Morinville.

Morinville RCMP say they and Police Dog Services were on the scene within minutes of the call, but the male was not located.

The suspect is described as 5’3” to 5 4” tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black sweater with no visible markings or writing, dark coloured pants, a black balaclava, and dark shoes/boots.

The Morinville RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the offender.
