Morinville 3061 Royal Canadian Army Cadets (1 Combat Engineer Regiment) member Michaylla Brissette rose to the top of the two-week General Training Course at Vernon Cadet Training Centre (VCTC).

Brissette was part of the second intake this summer and was awarded both Top in Course and the Malczynski Award for Top Shot for her efforts.

Cadet Brissette was one of 140 fellow cadets who attended the second two-week intake course and competing for the honours.

The program sees cadets introduced to communal living, overnight field training exercise, the confidence course, marksmanship with the air rifle, summer biathlon, orienteering, and an introduction to the summer training courses available to them in the coming years.

More than 1700 sea, army and air Cadets are participating in training activities this summer in Vernon. The experience provides them an opportunity to expand on the training they receive at the home Corps, as well as a chance to develop new skills and form lifelong friendships.
