Morinville RCMP seek help in homicide investigation

The Morinville RCMP Detachment and members from the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit North are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding human remains recovered in a rural area near the intersection of Township Road 540 and Rural Route 263 on the morning of Aug. 9.

RCMP have identified the remains as those of 25-year-old Sudesh Chamara Bombuwala of Edmonton.
Police say Sudesh Bombuwala was also known by the nicknames, Ricco and Johnny.

Police investigation to date has determined that he had been kidnapped from his Edmonton residence prior to his murder.

RCMP indicate the homicide investigation is moving forward; however, the RCMP is interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area bordered by Secondary Highway 633 (on the north side), Township Road 540 (on the south side), Rural Route 263 (on the east side) and Secondary Highway 779 (on the west side) between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016.
