Kenneth Pedde used WCLC’s “awesome” Lottery Manager mobile app to scan his LOTTO MAX ticket on his smartphone. He won $500,000 on the August 5 draw.

“I was at home and I thought, ‘I should check my tickets,’” he said. “So, I pulled up the WCLC app – which is awesome, by the way – and checked my tickets.”

“I saw all the zeros in the prize amount, and I could not believe my eyes!” he said with a laugh.

The happy winner said he kept scanning the winning ticket over and over.

“I just started to laugh,” he said. “I think I checked it at least six times – it took me a few minutes to actually believe it was true!”

The Morinville resident is excited to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage and put towards his retirement.

Pedde purchased his $21 LOTTO MAX ticket at Sobeys Morinville, located at 10003 100 Street.
