Thanksgiving giving
On Thursday Notre Dame Grade 2 students were getting ready to help Ken Skjersven of the Morinville Food Bank to load the many boxes of food items they collected at the school.
Students collected for the food bank to remind themselves how precious the gift of food is and how they can share through kindness.

Awesome Meeting
The Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce Luncheon meeting held Wednesday included guest speaker Gord Sheppard. A professional facilitator and consultant, Sheppard spoke on the topic of how to create awesome meetings.

Good news for Community Gardens from AGLC was shared at the Morinville Lions Club meeting held Monday night. President Deborah Robillard and Secretary Tina Gougeon passed on the changes that AGLC has implemented.
In a recent letter, dated 22 Sept sent to all active Charitable Organizations AGLC made a notification that they had made a policy amendment to the Charitable Gaming Policies Handbook in July 2016 to allow community gardens to participate in charitable gaming.
Before the change Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC) allowed gaming licensing and proceeds to go towards programs as food to shelters and food banks.
With the change, under the policy Aid of the Distressed, Section 3.2 it was expanded to include community gardens that grow vegetables and fruits for food sustainability for families and individuals or to aid the distressed.
Agenda topics also included meat draws, red vests, mints, Blood Donor Clinic, Breakfast with Santa, Canada 150 year celebration, 50/50 draw, clubhouse and the Lions Western Canadian Challenge Invitational Volleyball Tournament.
