St. Albert loses seven vehicles in rash of weekend thefts

St. Albert RCMP reported Tuesday afternoon that between Saturday, Oct. 8 and Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 the Detachment received seven reports of stolen vehicles from various neighborhoods in St. Albert.

Of the seven vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee was recovered six blocks away shortly after the report.

The remaining six stolen vehicles are reported as:

1997 Silver Honda CRV
1995 Black Honda Civic
2006 Blue Ford F350 Pick Up
2009 White Toyota Tacoma Pick Up
2012 Silver Ford F150 Pick Up
2015 Silver Ford Escape

An eighth vehicle, a 2012 silver Ford F150 pick-up was attempted stolen; however, police say the resident, having noticed lights on outside her home, stepped outside and saw the Ford running in the driveway, unattended. The would-be theif had backed the truck into a second truck parked in her driveway. No suspects were seen in the area.

RCMP say the thefts occurred in the areas of Alderwood Boulevard, Elise Place, Grandin Road, Bocock Place and Huntington Crescent.

St. Albert R.C.M.P. remind residents to ensure valuables are removed from vehicles, keys removed and doors locked so as to remove opportunities for thieves lurking the streets looking for easy targets.
