Jets ground Flyers

by Morinville News Staff

The Morinville Jets picked up their third consecutive win Sunday night, a 5-2 victory over the 7-5-1 Stony Plain Flyers. The accumulation of wins puts the Jets at the top of the CJHL’s West Division with a 7-3-4 record.

The Jets lead the charge Sunday night with a 2-1 lead heading into the second, but Stony tied it up on the powerplay to make it anyone’s game by the end of the middle frame. The Jets used their final 20 on the ice to rack up three goals, two of those by Tyler Hagel.

The Jets play one game this week – a Sunday night home-ice effort against the visiting St. Albert Merchants. Game time is 6:45 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Center.
