Both Morinville Community High School and Notre Dame held Remembrance Day ceremonies on Thursday – Notre Dame in the school gym and MCHS at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre.
Speakers at the MCHS ceremony included Father Mario, Greg Fraser, and students.
Sheila Scharmann read two poems she wrote; one titled Soldier in Poppy Field and the other called Tribute. Singing and playing guitar was Rowan McVittie with a video of One Tin Soldier playing in the background. The ceremony included a performance by the band and a Vimy video presentation.
