A different kind of check stop
The Town’s Annual Morinville Candy Cane Check Stop was held Thursday from 2 to 4 pm on 100 Street and in the evening by Tim Hortons and No Frills. The initiative offers a reminder to plan ahead and to not drink and drive during the holiday season. More than 1000 courtesy bags, containing pamphlets, a MADD ribbon, and candy canes were assembled by volunteers earlier in the month and were ready to be handed out to passing motorists.
