Town of Morinville collecting school supplies

by Morinville News Staff

Though there is still a few weeks of summer left to enjoy, the Town is hoping people realize it’s that time of year when people start thinking about sending their kids back to school. Because it has been
a difficult year for many Morinville families, back-to-school supplies are often considered a luxury item on a limited budget.

The Town of Morinville is once again encouraging residents to buy a few extra supplies for those in need.

While all supplies are welcome, the Town’s FCSS Department is particularly looking for the following items:

· Blank and graph paper
· Pencil crayons
· Pencils & erasers
· Pens (blue and red)
· Covered pencil sharpeners
· Earbuds
· Calculators
· Felt markers
· Glue sticks & white glue
· Dividers
· 2” zippered binders
· 2GB USB sticks
· Pencil Cases

The Town says residents are welcome to donate any of the above-listed items, which help support
the students of Morinville’s Catholic Schools in their supply lists. Alternately, residents can make a monetary contribution, which helps support the students of Morinville’s Public School with the
purchase of their pre-organized school supply packages.

All funds will be deposited through Morinville FCSS and provided to the families.

School supplies and monetary donations can be brought to Town Hall (10125-100 Ave.), or to the Morinville Community Cultural Centre (9502-100 Ave.) by Monday, August 21.

Left over supplies will be donated to the Morinville Food Bank.

PUBLISHER’S NOTE: The Morinville News will be closed for company summer shut down from July 31 to Aug. 7, inclusive. As such, we will have a limited number of stories online this week.
