Good sport – just not good at that sport
Chris Beaudette had to dance in a dress at Sobeys Friday afternoon. He and a number of Morinville friends are active playing Fantasy Football. No Frills hosted a hot dog fundraiser for the schools’ lunch programs today. Representatives from Notre Dame, Georges H, Primeau, MCHS and Morinville Public were on hand with Chris and Tracey from No Frills.

Vacation Bible School
Morinville Baptist Church held their Vacation Bible School last week for ages 5 to 12. Children took part in stories, singing, crafts, games and other activities. The theme for this year was Over the Moat-Drawbridge to the King.

Fish & Game gets washroom
The existing fire pit near the old Fish & Game Club clubhouse location has been removed in preparation for the installation of washrooms for Fish & Game Club park users as well as those using the Bob Foster Skate Park, dog park and trail system.
When the washroom installation is completed, a new location will be determined for a fire pit, Town officials told Morinville News.

Champlain Park Upgrades

Champlain Heights Park on 104 Street and 99 Avenue got some new elements this week.
New signage was installed Wednesday at the park located near the arena, which is home to the Morinville Centennial Community Gardens.
The new park signs were installed by summer students Marvin and Norman Warnecke and Foreman of Parks & Facilities Brody Stoddart.
The new sign is more visible and easier to read from the street as one approaches the area, as opposed to the old style sign, which have been replaced in parks around town.
On Thursday work was underway to build the new gazebo at the park. The gazebo is one of the many new projects by the Morinville Centennial Community Gardens.
