A group of transplanted East-Coasters hit the stage mid-September with an evening of Celtic Rock, east coast music, and their own original jigs and reels. The Derina Harvey Band will perform at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Friday, Sept. 15 with dinner at 6:30 and show to follow.

The Derina Harvey Band were last on the cultural centre’s stage in early 2016. That show drew 240 for the dinner and the show, but the growing popularity and word of mouth from the last minute could draw much more.

Harvey’s band has played across the country, and although performing on the East Coast gives them audiences that have grown up with Celtic music, the love of the musical genre has been ever present wherever they play.

Last year saw the band expand their touring footprint, showcasing across Western Canada with more than 60 performances throughout the year.

Premium Food Services are catering the dinner, which includes pork Tenderloin served with a Caribbean fruit salsa, sage and thyme roasted chicken tender pieces of whole oven-roasted chicken, served with savory chicken gravy, rosemary oven-roasted potatoes,
vegetable medley, spinach strawberry salad with candied pecans and honey balsamic vinaigrette, classic Caesar salad with homemade croutons, fresh crumbled bacon and traditional creamy dressing. Dessert includes chocolate Amaretto mousse, Bananas Foster – caramelized and flamed in Jamaican rum, served warm over vanilla ice cream.

Tickets for the dinner and show are $55 for adults and $50 for seniors and available at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre (9502-100 Ave.), online at tixonthesquare.ca (additional
fees apply) or by phone at 780.939.7839.
