Suspicious vehicle results in one in custody on warrants

by Morinville News Staff

An RCMP response to a suspicious vehicle call near 99 Avenue and 100 Street in Morinville Thursday night has resulted in a woman being arrested on what police say are numerous outstanding warrants.

When police arrived on the scene, the two occupants of the vehicle, a male and a female, fled the scene.

In an email to Morinville News, Sergeant Dale Kendall said the female was immediately located.

“A few stolen items were located inside the vehicle, so the Police Dog Services were called to see if they could track the male. A track was conducted; however, the male was not apprehended,” Sgt. Kendall said.

Kendall went on to say as the male fled from the vehicle, he ran through someone’s yard as the pair were fleeing the scene.

The file is still under investigation, and police are asking the public for any information that would assist in this investigation. Those with information can call 780-939-4550.
