Derina Harvey Band rocks with Celtic sounds

The Derina Harvey Band, a group of transplanted East-Coasters, hit the cultural centre stage Friday night with an evening of Celtic Rock, east coast music, and their own original jigs and reels.

Harvey’s band has played across the country, and although performing on the East Coast gives them audiences that have grown up with Celtic music, the love of the musical genre was present Friday in the 175 who came out for the dinner (catered by Premium Food Services) and show.

Last year saw the band expand their touring footprint, showcasing across Western Canada with more than 60 performances throughout the year.

Next up for the cultural centre is Oktoberfest Sept. 30 and children’s performers Bobs and Lolo on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
