Parent group working towards new school and community playground

Morinville Public Elementary School Parents Fundraising Association members have been actively raising monies for a new playground that will serve both the school’s growing number of students but also the community as a whole. The school has expanded from its initial 280 students in their first year to 420 students this school year, a number that surpasses the capabilities of the existing school playground, one MPESPFA President Leah Elzinga says was intended to accommodate 100 children. Morinville – Automated Traffic Enforcement (ATE) contractors could soon be presenting their offers to the Town of Morinville after Council voted 5-0 in favour of sending out a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the service. Community Gardens promoting backyard bats

Morinville – Backyard bats are the subject of an upcoming Morinville Community Gardens workshop taking place July 15. The local gardening enthusiasts are bringing in Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development bat expert Dr. Margo Pybus to do a session on bats and building bat houses.
