By Stephen DafoeMorinville – Students won’t be the only ones saying goodbye to Notre Dame Elementary School this week, two of the school’s longest-tenured teachers will be as well. But unlike many of the school’s students, the teachers will not be returning to stroll the hallways this fall. Viviane Pezer and Linda Gibson are retiring after 15 and 28 years with Notre Dame, respectively.
Gibbons – The Gibbons School Marching Band took to the streets June 14, unleashing their talents with brass and percussion for motorists and those they passed by.
The students made their way along a circuit that allowed them to pass through the town’s seniors’ facility and the Town Office, providing seniors and Mayor Bill Nimmo with a special performance.

Alberta students with special education needs will soon find a more inclusive education system. The province announced Friday it will begin providing improved learning and teaching resources, more professional development for teachers and educational assistants, and begin developing a regional service delivery model to support all students.
The initiatives are the province’s response to 12 recommendations contained in the Setting the Direction Framework put forth by Alberta Education.
