Town extends deadline for Tour de l’Alberta

The Town of Morinville is extending the deadline for this year’s Tour de l’Alberta until Aug. 5, and have been actively promoting the event in the hopes of getting more riders.

County couple bringing music to the park

The late afternoon storm that blew through Morinville Thursday cancelled the first of three Music in the Park events. Jan and Jim Baker were to bring the first of their Summer Music in the Park events to Town July 23; however, the event has been tentatively rescheduled for July 30. The event will feature singer/songwriter Jan Baker and Canadiana singer/songwriter John Spearn beneath the clock tower for 90 minutes of music. Town and County partner for joint traffic operation

Morinville and Sturgeon County Peace Officers joined forces with the RCMP June 1 for a Joint Force Operation in the town and county.

The one-day operation resulted in 30 tickets being issued, including a mandatory court appearance. An additional eight warnings and one warrant were executed during this operation.
