Letter: Regional Recreational Complex or a Local Arena/Curling Complex?

Morinville Council is rapidly moving forward on a decision that will have an important effect on the long-term growth of Morinville and Sturgeon County. This decision will be to either start building a replacement Arena/Curling complex right away ( inside Morinville boundaries) or work with Sturgeon County, Legal, Bon Accord, Gibbons, Redwater and a variety of ‘other groups’ to develop a more comprehensive Regional Complex that would probably proceed within the next three years… […]

Local comedian making name for himself one laugh at a time

by Stephen Dafoe

Morinville – Sitting at a table, coffee in hand, 18-year-old Wyatt Zieger looks like any other recent high school graduate. But as soon as he opens his mouth, one quickly realizes there is something a little theatrical about the man. The way he talks, the way he moves his hands, the slight smirk on his face and an underlying edginess are sure signs this guy has held a mic and done some comedy. […]

Letter: Be creative for Earth Day

Editor:

With Earth Day upon us, and a very strange winter full of rain and extreme cold drawing to a close, now is a good time to think about the environment. It doesn’t matter whether you care about climate change, or how dedicated you are to keeping your little part of the world clean; it’s simply about changing thinking patterns. Instead of buying something new, packaged in obscene amounts of plastic, styrofoam and cardboard … […]

Letter: Ask the experts

Morinville residents who attend this weekend’s Morinville Trade Show have the opportunity to get information and to ask questions on photo radar enforcement at the Town of Morinville’s booth. It is time to separate FACT from FICTION. There seems to be a consistent message in the media comments made by those opposed to photo speed enforcement. They want you to vote “yes” to eliminating it! Their suggestion is that the RCMP and Community Peace Officers fill the void left by the removal of photo speed enforcement. What would this mean for the residents of Morinville? Who better to ask than our local Experts on this subject matter… […]
