Morinville resident speaks at Be Brave Ranch opening

Many tears were shed Saturday afternoon as people hugged one another, joyful that a dream to had become a reality. Little Warriors held the official grand opening celebrations of the Be Brave Ranch by Ray LaBonte and Family, a facility that offers children who have been sexually abused and their families a place to heal. The ranch will offer abused children more than 200 hours of multiple therapies to help them grow into healthy adults. Morinville – Three local women have combined their talents with their passion for a worthy cause to promote an upcoming concert with up-and-coming rock/pop band Rend. Morinville – A local supporter of Little Warriors is disappointed with the news the organization was unsuccessful in their application for $650,000 in provincial grant funding. Little Warriors, a national charitable organization that focuses on the education and prevention of child sexual abuse, has been raising funds to build the Be Brave Ranch, a centre that would provide a 30-day in-treatment program for children who are victims of sexual abuse, providing them with the therapy the organization feels is necessary to help them now and in the future.

Morinville resident Brandi, herself a victim of sexual abuse and a woman whose last name we have agreed to withhold, spearheaded a letter-writing campaign last October to get Albertans to write to Premier Alison Redford as well as provincial and federal politicians seeking their support for the Be Brave Ranch initiative… […]
